Amazon Shifts 21 Air Operations to ATI and ABX Air

Amazon is making changes to its cargo operations following the Boeing 767 crash in Miami that killed five people and the subsequent suspension of its partnership with 21 Air.

According to information obtained, some of the operations previously handled by 21 Air will be transferred to Air Transport International (ATI) and ABX Air. Both carriers operate under Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) and already operate Boeing 767 freighters on behalf of Amazon Air.

Amazon suspended its cooperation with 21 Air following the September 6 accident at Miami International Airport. The Boeing 767 overran the runway and struck several vehicles, killing five people and injuring five others.

The NTSB investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
